| Monday, July 04, 2005 its been so long hasn't it. more than half a year since our actual graduation night. and yet to me, it only seemed like yesterday. shows how much i've actually done with my time within these six months. blurry images of my appendicitis and hospital stay and medical attachments and my short work stint remains with me, and now a whole new chapter of army life begins. loyalty to country leadership discipline professionalism fighting spirit ethics care for soldier drink up. now i finally understand why army life sucks. its a grand combination of eternal confinements, selfcentred greedy section mates and pathetic allowance. can u imagine, i earned 222 for my first months allowance, and compare that to my 1199 pay at sph after cpf cut. its heartwrenching. and still, fear for the impending 11 november gp paper looms over me. the fact that newspaper in bmtc is considered a luxury, and that horrendous english standards are considered as a normal sideeffect from longteerm army lilfe, results in me losing faith for doing any beter this time round. heck i can't even find the energy to start reading thru "The GP Power". So why do you fill my sorrow, with the words you've borrowed From the only place you've known And why do you sing Hallelujah, if it means nothing to you Why do you sing with me at all? and now that we're all on the verge of twenty, we'll soon be losing the air of innocence and the ticket for ignorance. within the next decade or so, we'll have to complete our studies, find a job and make plans for a family. isn't it stressful. sometimes i wish i could move a decade back so that i'm primary 4 again. and sometimes i wonder where future leads us, and whether fate would ever let any of our paths intertwine once again, perhaps when we're 29, and on the verge of hitting the big 3-0. do anybody watch lost? its a show abt an island where some ppl believe in fate, and some ppl believe in science, and somehow fate seems to be the omnipresent one, with all their lives somehow related. but then again its just a show. and for those who watch, i have to say the last episode was quite lousy. there was like no conclusion at all. now i must be left hanging there until season 2 comes along. sigh. soon the girls will be starting their uni education. the smart and lucky ones will be flying overseas on scholarships, while i'll be taking a penguin back to my little island resort just north of singapore. and btw nita, u owe me a dinner after waiting an entire night at tft waving my flashlight every half an hour, only to be left disappointed.
